Personality:

Closed off. Doesn't believe that those around him care for him, and has no reason to believe so. He lives in a world where backstabbing is considered the norm. He would easily sell out those around him, except that he sometimes makes a bond with those he works closely with, a problem that has caused him much grief in the past.

Brief Biography:

Marcus was born in Potenza italy when his mother went into labor early. His father was already gone before his mother was even into her second trimester. He grew up having to knowledge of his father. His mother never told him what her occupation was as they traveled through out Italy living in many different cities. He was eight years old when his half sister, Mariona Than, was born. He loved her more than anything, and constantly tried to protect her.

When Marcus turned 10, his mother was killed. It was then he found out that she had been a prostitute. She had been keeping money from her employers for her children, and was killed for it. Marcus and his sister were left alone to defend themselves.

A man that had known Marcus's mother, Pertov, took the two in with some persuasion from Marcus. The man ran a business that was assassins for higher worldwide. Marcus made a deal to do any work he needed to for the man in return for his safety, and the safety of his sister.

When Marcus turned 16, he had to accompany one of Pertov's men on a hit, to take care of some weapons the man had that needed to be fixed, but that he didn't have time to wait back at the home office for. The man was discovered before the hit, and the man he was sent to kill followed him back to the hotel he and Marcus were staying in. He killed the man, and shot Marcus in the chest, but Marcus still managed to kill the man. He spent over 6 months in the hospital recovering, and when he returned home, discovered that he was now to be on of Pertov's assassins, to replace the one lost.

Marcus took to his new life easily, having already lived a life of kill or be killed. He hid most of what happened from his sister, though she was perfectly aware of what was going on. One night when Marcus was 24, he came home to find a man in his house who was attempting to rape his sister. He killed the man, but not before he had given Marcus a nasty cut with a knife across his collar bone. Marcus easily recovered, and left Italy with his sister for America that night, using one of his connections he now had to get a new job in the states.

Pertov did not take Marcus's defection lightly, and sent men after him. He did not wish for Marcus to die, but to suffer for his betrayal. Pertov saw Marcus as a spoiled brat who had thrown away a life that he had given him, and he felt he should be punished for the rest of his life. Marcus now went simply by The X to protect his identity, and had been living this way for a year and a half, but Pertov's men easily found him anyway. They shot him in the leg and kidnapped his sister. He managed to kill two of them, but they still got away.

A year later Marcus was approached by a man named Arnaud DeThiel. He offered him to opportunities. A place where his skills would be put to use, and free reign to search for his sister, as well as resources behind him to help destroy those he found that had taken his sister. He has worked for Arnaud for four and a half years, to varying degrees. Sometimes involved to the hilt, and sometimes not even in the same country.
